My life as a working girl so far..

Hello I'm Mary Ann. While I was growing up my thoughts about work were pretty confusing, all my friends had moms that worked full time jobs and my mom did not work at all. My father was the "bread winner" for the family. My heritage is Croatian and traditionally the male works and the females stay at home to take care of the children. We were lucky enough that my father had a great job and could support our family.
My family never pushed me to work but as I saw all my friends in high school getting part time jobs, I wanted one also. So, I ended up getting a job at Key Food as a cashier. I liked working because I felt important and I had some extra cash in my pocket. I worked at Key Food for about 3 years and finally quit after I graduated high school.
After high school I didn't want to go straight into college because I wanted a little "break" from school. I got a job in the payroll department at the corporate office of Key Food. I didn't really like what I was doing but I knew that it was going to be temporary for about a year or so. Well, that didn't go as planned, I ended up staying in the payroll department for about 4 years. I don't regret staying there for that long but I do regret not going straight into college after high school.
I originally wanted to become a pharmacist so I got a job as a pharmacy technician at Rite Aid about 2 years ago. I am currently still working there. I no longer want to become a pharmacist due to personal reasons (no it's not a drug addiction lol, I met my boyfriend while vacationing in Croatia and I plan on moving there once I am done with school) The reason I don't want to become a pharmacist anymore is because I would like to work at a travel and tourist agency in Croatia, it seems like the smarter choice than a pharmacist. Their pharmacy laws are very different than ours here in the United States. They also don't have franchise pharmacies like we do so my options as a pharmacist would be very low.
I eventually plan on starting my own travel and tourist agency in Croatia. I would love to show people the beauty of Croatia.
